Obituary of Lyle A. Smith

Lyle A. Smith, age 77, on April 11 and Carol G. Smith, age 73, on April 13. They were a devoted couple married for 53 years. Lyle is predeceased by his parents, Walter and Norma Smith, and brother Denis. Carol is predeceased by her parents, Albert and Leah Gentle. They are survived by their son Alan (Sarah) and daughter Jennifer; grandchildren Austin, Emma, and Cody; Lyle's sister Marsha Zakofsky and sister-in-law Inez Smith; Carol's brother Albert Gentle, Jr. and aunt Betty Nichols; and cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends. The Smith family would like to thank Visiting Nurse Service and the Strong Memorial ALS clinic, Neuromedicine Intensive Care Unit, and Palliative Care Unit for high-level and compassionate care. This was very comforting to the family. A memorial service, with reception to follow, will take place 1:00pm on Wednesday April 20 at the Penfield Presbyterian Church, 1881 Jackson Rd. Private interment.
