Gertrude A. Bartleson Obituary

Gertrude Anne 'Trudy' Bartleson

     b. 13 March 1928  d. 5 April 2025

With a BA from Keuka College and an MA from Columbia, Trudy was a scholar of Art History, as well as a long-time violinist performing in concert halls. She worked in Administration for Eastman Kodak and married Kodaker, C. James Bartleson, who became a world-renowned Scientist.  Together, they travelled the world, from Japan and Russia to the Middle East, Europe, and dozens of countries.  They lived in London while Jim earned his PhD. After being widowed, Trudy resumed travelling with her older sister Lydia, exploring New Zealand, Australia, and beyond.

Trudy's community involvement included years of ushering at The Downstairs Cabaret and Nazareth College. She also devoted time to charities, including The Storehouse and Meals On Wheels. Her work in the First Presbyterian Church kept her involved in the lives of friends, an interest she brought with her as a resident of Valley Manor. Kindness and optimism were the foundations of her personality, and she lived the truth that helping others brings personal happiness.

She is survived by her son,Chris, four nieces, one nephew, and two granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted by the First Presbyterian Church of Pittsford, 25 Church Street, Pittsford, NY, 14534.
