Obituary of Victoria Mary Welch
It is with immense sadness that we announce the death of Victoria Mary Welch , who was called home on May 28th, 2025, to be with her mother, Geraldine, father, Willard and son, James. Vicky was born and raised in East Rochester New York. She was the matriarch of East Rochester, the mom to all. She was all about her family and her doggies. She loved to entertain, garden, cook, take rides, laugh and enjoy life. Victoria is survived by her husband, Joesph; her daughter, Erica (Adam); her sons, Jeremy (Sarah), and Joseph; her granddaughters, Alycia and Alyvia; her grandsons, Bobby Elijah and Noah, and her great grand children, Ma’liyah and Luka, as well as many friends and bonus kids!!
Known affectionately as “Ms. Vick,” she was the kind of woman who didn’t just walk into a room — she filled it. With her loud voice, unshakable spirit, and unorthodox but sharp wisdom, she offered protection, truth, and love in ways only a real matriarch could. She didn’t raise just children — she raised character, resilience, and heart. She believed in discipline, respect, and accountability, but most of all—in love without conditions. She may not have said it often, but she showed it in every sacrifice, every home-cooked meal, every argument that ended in a hug, and every moment she stood by us when no one else would.
Vicky stepped into the lives of her family not out of obligation, but from a place of fierce love. She gave of herself fully, putting her own life on hold to nurture and raise two young boys, guiding them with a steady hand and a fearless heart. She never asked for praise, only that those she loved grow into strong, good people. And that, they did — because of her.
She was tough, yes — but it was the kind of toughness that came from a lifetime of holding others up. She told the truth when it was hard to hear, gave advice when it was hard to take, and loved even when it wasn’t easy. In every way that mattered, she showed up — consistently, faithfully, and without fail.
To know Vicky was to know strength. To be loved by her was to be truly seen, protected, and believed in. To know Vicky was to know a woman who valued honesty over popularity, loyalty over ease, and love over convenience. She embodied the heart and grit of East Rochester—a true matriarch, a protector, and a fierce advocate for those she called family.
Her legacy is not just in the stories we tell, but in the way we live — with honesty, with love, and with the kind of courage that doesn’t back down when life gets hard. Her lessons echo in our choices, her laughter lingers in our memories, and her love lives on in each heart she helped shape. And in her later years, something remarkable happened: the relationship between her and her children, grandchildren, friends, and husband deepened, evolved. The laughter became louder, the talks more honest, the bond undeniable. She wasn’t just “mom”—she became a friend, a confidante, a mirror to our better selves.
Victoria “Vicky T” Welch may have left this earth, but her spirit remains woven into the lives she touched. Her impact will ripple through generations — steady, strong, and eternal. Vicky is reunited now with her parents and her beloved son, Jamie. Though our hearts are shattered, we take comfort knowing she’s watching over us with that same no-nonsense attitude and unwavering pride. , Victoria, You were one of a kind a legend, a warrior… above all you were home. Rest easy, Victoria Welch. We carry your love in our bones and your lessons in our soul. Your story doesn’t end here—it lives on in every good choice we make, every person we help, and every step we take forward.
Thank you, Vicky, for choosing us. For loving us. For shaping us. You will never be forgotten. She leaves behind a family forever grateful for her love, a community that respected her presence, and a legacy of strength, sacrifice, and unconditional motherhood.
