Dorothy A. Finley passed away at 97 years young on August 7, 2025. Affectionately known by loved ones as “Perky”, “Mom,” “Grandma,” and “GG.” She was born on January 11, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois.

Dorothy is predeceased by parents Chester & Sophia [Mokos] Perkowski, husband William “Bill” Finley, daughter Donna Finley, and brother Chester Perkowski. 

Dorothy is survived by brother Richard “Dickie” Perkowski, daughters Sharon Finley and Dawn Muller (Jeff), six granddaughters, and six great grandchildren, as well as many other loved ones.

Dorothy’s life, extending nearly a full century, was well lived. From beginning to end, she demonstrated strength of character, independence, and a witty sense of humor that will forever be a source of inspiration for those who knew her. Her hobbies and interests changed with the times, but her most constant source of joy was the time spent with her loved ones, especially over a cup of coffee and a baked good. Dorothy always desired more time with the youngest members of her family and loved sneaking them surprises. A very transient collection of family and friends was kept within reach by her devotion to and value of “togetherness.” She was a loyal correspondent in written form, was always up for a chat on the phone, or an in-person visit. Dorothy will be remembered fondly as the family matriarch and for her unconditional love and charitable spirit.

Dorothy A. Finley will be interred at White Haven Memorial Park in Pittsford, NY beside her beloved husband Bill and daughter Donna. 

No in-person memorial service has been planned at this time. However, friends and family are encouraged to celebrate “Perky’s” life.  Share a cup of coffee, a baked good, or a scratch-off lottery ticket with a loved one as she would have. Donations in Dorothy’s honor can be made to any charity of your choosing in support of children, dogs, veterans, or hospice.
