Michael A. Polozie of Pittsford, NY, passed away after a brief illness on September 19, 2025, at the age of 86. Michael is predeceased by his loving wife, Katherine (nee Wilson), sister, Monica (Clifford) Tryon, and niece, Elizabeth (Wayne) Fornaciari. He is survived by his children, Martha (Sven-Erik) Kaiser and Stephen M. (Katarina Boer) Polozie, and grandsons, Samuel Kaiser, Matthew Kaiser, and Kai Polozie, as well as nephews, Christopher Fallows and Timothy Fallows.
Shortly after he was born in Dayton, Ohio, Michael's parents Walter and Catherine (nee Marcinkiewicz) Polozie relocated to Schenectady, New York, to be close to her large family. They later moved to nearby Burnt Hills, where he attended Burnt Hills Balston Lake High School. Michael graduated from Syracuse University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
While at Syracuse, Michael met then Katherine (Kay) Wilson. She was a beautiful Orleans County farm girl, they married after her graduation from Syracuse and while he was a law school student. They lived for a short time in Philadelphia while he completed his studies. They later moved to the Town of Greece, off Stone Road, where they raised their family.
Michael practiced law in Monroe County for nearly 60 years. He is remembered fondly by his many clients, colleagues, friends, and fellow residents at the Landing of Brighton. He is also remembered with sincere gratitude by the numerous nonprofit groups that he quietly served and offered thoughtful leadership and counsel during their most successful and difficult times.
An avid and long-time stamp collector, Michael taught himself conversational French with minimal formal instruction in order to communicate with stamp dealers in Brittany and Paris. He subsequently visited France 17 times - most recently, at age 84.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Friday, September 26, from 4:00-7:00pm, at Harloff Funeral Home located at 803 South Washington Street, East Rochester.
Michael's Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 27, at 10:30am, at St. John the Evangelist Church, located at 553 Humboldt Street, Rochester, which is part of Peace of Christ Parish. Very Rev. Peter B. Mottola, J.C.L., Judicial Vicar of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rochester, will preside.
A reception will follow the mass at McArdle's Restaurant, located at 1355 Fairport Road, Fairport, New York 14450. Michael adored McArdles as a date spot for his favorite pies.
