Angela Rose McCubbin Obituary

On February 23, 2026 Angela Rose (Zaino) McCubbin peacefully passed away with her family at her side.  She was amazed to have lived to nearly 93 years of age, although she very much missed her husband, Bob, the last ten years of her life. 


Angela was the only child of Edward and Mary Ann Zaino, born in Utica, NY.  She met her future husband in high school, and they married as soon as she graduated.  They were together for 65 years and had four children.  She is predeceased by husband, Robert Karl McCubbin Sr., daughter, Mary McCray, grandson, David McCrary, great granddaughter, Aonika Chamberlain.  She is survived by daughter, Lena (Bob) Corleto, son, Robert K. (Polly) McCubbin Jr., and daughter, Elizabeth (Tim) Samson; grandchildren, Philip Corleto, Robert K. McCubbin III, Gregory Corleto, Richard McCubbin, Pamela Frosino, Benjamin McCubbin, Sydney Samson; great grandchildren, Julianna Corleto, Gabriel Corleto, Makenzie Corleto, Marissa Frosino, Alex Frosino, Connor McCubbin, Ethan McCubbin.


From 1968 to 1971 Bob and Angela and their children lived in Hong Kong while Bob was employed by General Electric Corporation.  The family visited many locations throughout Europe as they traveled back and forth to the States on vacations.  In later years, Bob and Angela enjoyed travels to Italy, Spain, England, Taiwan and back to Hong Kong.  Angela was an avid reader and worked at the Maplewood branch of the Rochester Public Library in the 1980’s.  They enjoyed spending winters at their second home in Bradenton, Florida.


Angela spent many years helping on the family apple orchard doing everything from picking apples to making cider.  She also enjoyed camping and boating, gardening, and going to flea markets looking for good books to read!


Angela’s passing occurred under the care of the Palliative Care Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital.  In accordance with her wishes, the memorial service and interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to UR Medicine Hospice, 2180 Empire Blvd., Webster, NY 14580.
