Martha “Marty” Ross was born on March 10th, 1949 and passed away on March 30th, 2026 after a hard-fought battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Her final moments were peaceful, surrounded by her loving family.

Marty was predeceased by her beloved husband of 34 years, James Ross; her parents, George and Mary Palmer; her aunt and uncle, Bill and Dorothy Lewis; her siblings, Barbara, David, and Lenny; her niece and godchild, Katie Palmer; her nephew, Steven; and her niece, Colleen, and dear friend “Tripp.”

She is survived by her children, Amy (Nicholas) Spallina and Jon (Jennifer) Ross; her cherished grandchildren, Adrianna, Alexandra, and Dominic, who brought her immense joy; and many other beloved family members and dear friends.

Marty was born to Mary and George Palmer and, following the early passing of her mother, was lovingly raised by her aunt and uncle, Dorothy and Bill Lewis. She grew up with an aunt and uncle who became parents and cousins who became siblings, forming lifelong bonds rooted in love and family.

Family and friends were the center of Marty’s life. She treasured weekend family gatherings and summer vacations to Cape Cod with loved ones. A proud and devoted mother, she was always present for the meaningful events in her children’s lives and provided loving support as they established their own families. Although Alzheimer’s was a long and difficult journey, Marty found great happiness in time spent with her grandchildren and in the familiar, comforting presence of those she loved.

Marty had an incredible work ethic. For many years, she owned and operated a cleaning business, building close relationships with clients who became friends. Later, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant compassionately caring for residents at the Friendly Home, where she found deep fulfillment in helping others.

Marty will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Monroe Community Hospital and Rochester Regional Home Care & Hospice for their exceptional care, keeping Marty comfortable through her final days.
