It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Hook, who passed away surrounded by his loved ones, on Monday, March 30th, at the age of 67 after a long and courageous fight. Richard was born on October 26th, 1958, in East Rochester, NY, and lived a life filled with love, strength, hard work, and dedication to his family. He was known for his calm nature, kind sense of humor, and a laugh that will be deeply missed. He touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

Richard was a man who loved deeply and lived fully. He found joy in simple things such as casting a line while fishing; hunting with his father, brother and friends; Monday bowling league; and cheering on his Buffalo Bills and St. Louis Blues, but nothing in the world meant more to him than his family.

He was a devoted husband to his wife of 44 years, Donna Hook, a love that stood the test of time through every high and low. Their bond was unbreakable, built on loyalty, laughter, and a lifetime of memories.

He was a proud father to his daughters, Melissa and Audrey, who meant everything to him. He was a loving Papa to his cherished granddaughter, Abby, his absolute pride and joy. She brought a special light into his life, and he adored her more than words can express.

Richard will be remembered for his strength, his heart, and the way he made those he loved feel safe and cared for. His presence was steady, his love was constant, and his absence leaves a space that can never be filled.

Richard was predeceased by his father, Richard Hook, and his father-in-law, Phillip Cerretti. He is survived by his wife, Donna; his daughters, Melissa and Audrey; his granddaughter, Abigail; his mother, Nancy “Tunie” Hook; his mother-in-law, MaryJane Cerretti; his siblings, David Hook and Rebecca Schaefer; and many extended family members.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours for Richard on Thursday, April 9th, from 4–7 p.m. at Harloff Funeral Home in East Rochester. This will be a time to come together, lean on one another, and remember the love and strength he brought into all of our lives. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 10th, at 11:00 a.m. at White Haven Memorial Park  in Fairport, where we will say goodbye, honor his life, and celebrate the incredible man he was.
