Margaret proudly served in the US Navy (WAVES) during World War II as a gunnery instructor. Following the war, she worked in the insurance industry, married, and began raising her family. She was a member of the American Legion Braman Post 1229, VFW, WAVES National, East Rochester Class of 1941, and the East Rochester Senior Center. Her volunteer work included RAMS and The Strong Museum. She was an active parishioner of St. Jerome's Church and, as a cancer survivor, a supporter of the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center. She was also a talented quilter and seamstress, who created many cherished baby outfits for family, friends, and hospitals' premature infant units. "The family would like to extend their gratitude to URMC's Strong Stroke Center and Sussman Palliative Care Unit for filling her final days with comfort and dignity." Calling hours will be 4-8pm on Friday, July 1st at Harloff Funeral Home in East Rochester. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Saturday, July 2nd at St. Jerome's Church in East Rochester.
