Alby lived through two world wars and the great depression. He served with distinction in World War II as a first lieutenant. A graduate of Alfred State College, Alby was a 40-year veteran of Eastman Kodak as a chemist in manufacturing technology. He was caring and loyal to his family and friends alike. He often said, "Live for others, it's the only way." He was a first-rate photographer who won many medals for his work; an accomplished painter in oils and watercolors; a baritone in his church choir and in his barbershop quartet; and an enthusiastic actor in numerous local productions. A generous and selfless man, Alby will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
