Obituary of Robert K. O'Brien

Robert K."Bobby" O'Brien of Rochester passed away on July 3, 2018, surrounded by family, after a valiant battle with cancer at age 62.  He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Ann; sister, Margaret Ann, who died in infancy.  He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Wendy; fur babies, Nikki and Lily; father and mother-in-law, Leo "Bill" and Sally Robinson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard (Oksana) Robinson, Bill (Heidi) Robinson, David Robinson and Amy Swanson Sandusky; aunt, Betty Reilly; several cousins, nephews, nieces and numerous very special friends who Bob loved dearly.

Bob was a graduate of East Rochester High School and later attended St. John Fisher College.  He was well known in the Rochester Music Scene as the lead singer of the band Wild Horses. He was also a prominent real estate agent of over 30+ years, most recently working with Howard Hanna Real Estate Services in Pittsford.  Bob had a love and passion for life with a sense of humor and wit that could be matched by no other, lighting up every room he ever walked into.  He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of many.

We would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Unit at the Wilmot Cancer Center for their constant, attentive treatment, excellent care, support, and unending love.  Thank you for the hand holding, prayers and hugs when he was afraid.  Bob grew to love each and every one of you.

Friends may call Tuesday, July 10, 4-8PM at Harloff Funeral Home, 803 S. Washington Street, East Rochester, NY 14445.  A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, July 11, 11 AM in All Seasons Chapel at White Haven Memorial Park.  Private interment at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Bob has requested that memorial contributions be made to any of the causes which he was so passionate about:  K9 Orphans, PO Box 332, Penfield, NY 14526; Spiritus Christi Mental Health Center, 121 N. Fitzhugh Street, Rochester, NY 14614; The MDS Foundation, 4573 S. Broad Street, Suite 150, Yardville, NJ 08620.

In Bob's last words, All is calm.  All is bright.
