At the time of Marianne’s diagnosis with pancreatic cancer in February, she set a personal goal to attend the Rochester Fringe Festival in September. She fought tirelessly and “Fringed hard” for all 11 days of the festival.

Marianne grew up in East Rochester. She will be remembered for her athletic ability and good sportsmanship, strong intellect and natural curiosity, globe-trotting sense of adventure, emotional depth, and the joy she brought to nieces and nephews with her creation of ‘Puppet Man’ and arriving with pockets full of Pop Rocks.

The family would like to express gratitude to Dr. Tejani’s team at Wilmot Cancer Institute for guidance through this challenging journey and to the staff at Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center for providing comfort and dignity in her final days. The family requests that memorial donations in Marianne’s memory be made to the non-profit Rochester Fringe Festival, P.O. Box 10508, Rochester, NY 14610 (https://rochesterfringe.com/donate) or YMCA of Greater Rochester, 444 E. Main Street, Rochester, NY 14604 (https://rochesterymca.org/donate/). Interment will be private.
