FAREWELL WITH LOVE TO OUR NANA AND MOM
EVELYN MARIE FARNSWORTH (PREWITT) ‘EVIE’ WAS BORN IN 1927 IN THE MIDWEST DURING THE GREAT DEPRESSION. HER MIDWEST VALUES INCLUDED HARD WORK AND LOTS OF LOVE TO EVERYONE AROUND HER. EVELYN HAD 6 SIBLINGS AND TWO ARE STILL LIVING.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY DAUGHTER, ‘GINNY’ HURLBUTT, PITTSFORD, NY; TWO GRANDCHILDREN – AMY PETRONE (GUY) OF BRIGHTON AND ROBERT FEOL (SHANNON) OF OLIVE BRANCH, MISSISSIPPI; 6 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: JAKE, RYAN, NOLAN OF BRIGHTON, AND ROBBIE, KERRIGAN AND TENNESSEE OF MISSISSIPPI; HER SISTER, JANE BYUS, OF INDIANAPOLIS AND HER BROTHER, RICHARD PREWITT, OF KENT, WASHINGTON.
SHE LOVED LIFE AND EVERYONE LOVED HER – A GREAT FAN OF WATER SPORTS AND AN EXPERT WATER SKIER DURING HER YOUNGER YEARS; MUSIC; DANCING THE POLKA, AND OF COURSE MOST OF ALL HER FAMILY. A TALENTED NEEDLEWORKER, HER CREATIONS WERE BEYOND REPEATING. SHE WAS ALSO PART OF A BEAUTY PAGEANT DURING THE SIOUX CITY CENTENNIAL PARADE.
EVELYN MOVED TO NEW YORK IN 1968 AND BEGAN A CAREER IN HOTEL MANAGEMENT AND RETIRED IN 1985. SHE WAS PAST PRESIDENT OF THE AMERICAN WAR DADS AUXILIARY OF PALMYRA, NY.
IN SUM, SHE GAVE UNDYING LOVE AND AFFECTION TO ALL SHE KNEW. ‘EVIE’ WILL BE MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW HER. HER PERSONALITY WAS DESCRIBED AS A ‘FIRE CRACKER’ – ALWAYS TRYING TO KEEP EVERYBODY HAPPY. AND HER FAMILY IS ALREADY FEELING THE LOSS OF THEIR ‘NANA’ AND MOM.
GOD SPEED - WE ALREADY MISS YOU SO MUCH!
SERVICES WILL BE PRIVATE. THE FAMILY REQUESTS NO FLOWERS OR DONATIONS.
