Obituary of Gary L. Raschiatore

East Rochester-December 4, 2020 Gary was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Marie, brother, Anthony, sisters-in-law, Gail Raschiatore, Shirley Raschiatore, and Thelma Raschiatore, brother-in-law, John Lowery; survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Randy, brother, Thomas, sister, Jean (Allan) Berry, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joan and Don Lyng, sister-in-law, Carol Lyng-Pickett (Clifford); many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Gary was a proud East Rochesterian. He was a brilliant role model, inquisitive, informed, well read and very knowledgeable in a wide variety of areas. Gary graduated as valedictorian from ER, Class of 1954. He then went on to serve in the US Navy. After proudly serving our country he worked at the Piano Works for 25 years until it closed. He then went to work for the Postal Service for 15 years from where he retired. As a lifelong learner in his 70’s he earned his associates degree from MCC and served as math tutor. Gary had unconditional love for his family especially his wife Randy of 39 years. He was also an animal lover especially of his 4 cats. He was a great athlete who was passionate about hunting, fishing, and golf. Gary was a great conversationalist, listener, quick witted and had an unbelievable sense of humor. After retiring, Gary and Randy spent summers at their cottage in Three Mile Bay, where they enjoyed playing Bingo and Tuesday and Thursday wing nights. Gary's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, December 9, 10:00 a.m. at St. Jerome's Church, 207 Garfield Street, East Rochester. Kindly consider donations to Lollypop Farm in Gary's memory.
