Obituary of Alice Martha Schulmeister

Alice Martha Schulmeister Passed away on January 11, 2021, at the age of 97. She was born in North Tonawanda, New York, and grew up there. During WWII, she served in the US Navy for over two years as a Link Instructor in Florida, teaching celestial navigation to Navy Pilots. She completed her bachelors and masters degree in education, and taught art in Skaneateles, New York, and then taught high school math in Pittsford, NY, until her retirement in 1979. Throughout her life, she actively enjoyed golfing, bowling, tennis and sailing. She resided in Penfield and East Rochester for over 50 years before moving to Slingerlands, NY, in 2017 to be closer to her family. “Aunt Sal” was a very special aunt to her nieces and nephews, always eager to spend time with them as children doing arts and crafts, games, cards, sports, and sharing in many special family events. She made everything fun. She continued to support her nieces and nephews into their adulthood, in so many loving ways – always eager to know about their lives, activities and their children. Her sister, nieces and grand-nieces enjoyed many “girl’s weekend” trips to various fun destinations. Alice was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Helen Schulmeister; her sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Albert Lind; and nephews, Greg and Larry Lind. She is survived by her sister, Pauline (Robert) Eberle; nephew, William (RoseMary) Eberle; nieces, Patricia (Barbara Brazis) Eberle and Christine Graves, in addition to 10 grand-nieces/nephews.
