Obituary of Kathleen V. O'Connell

Kathleen O'Day O'Connell of Pittsford: Born in Brooklyn NY on October 19, 1940. Kate left her home of 60 years, January 11, 2021, for the last time. In her final days she was surrounded by those she loved, lots of music, laughter, her dog Arlo, and of course chocolate cream pie! She is predeceased by parents Joseph and Gladys O’Day, sister Susan Wildermuth and former husband Frank O’Connell. Katie left behind her four, beyond grateful children, Susan (Bob) Webster, Christopher (Jaime), Tom and Katie, her dearly loved grandchildren Zach and Annie Webster and Charlie Cresov-O’Connell, sister Patricia Groves and many nieces and nephews. She received her Nursing degree from Nazareth College in 1962, took time to raise her children, then went on to work at Highland Hospital for more than 30 years where she made many lifelong friends, while also caring for her mother. In her home she raised many generations, the door was always open and so many loved sitting at the kitchen table sharing their lives with Big Kate. She loved going to the Little Theater, enjoyed vacations with her family, visiting New York City, Italy, and Nantucket, just to name a few. She listened, she loved, she was strong yet selfless, accepting of everyone. She was a good one! Thank you Mom. We love you Mooge, and will miss you all the days.
