Born in an Abbey in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she grew up in the Bronx before her family moved to Rochester, NY. She was a performer; she loved to dance and sing. She was a member of the Boriquen Dance Theatre and The Bottom of the Bucket, BUT... Dance Theatre. She loved music like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Korn, Depeche Mode, Madonna, and Lady Gaga. She loved Salvador Dali, Anne Rice, and Quentin Tarantino. She loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Supernatural, and Harry Potter. She loved to crochet, and play Parcheesi and Bejewelled. She loved all sports, from baseball, to college basketball,to MMA. She loved to cook arroz con pollo, pernil, as well as mac salad and ham and cheese casserole. She loved to bake zucchini banana nut bread and oatmeal scotchies. Ruthie loved with her whole heart, and then some. She loved all of her beautiful family and friends, and all of the children in her life with every fiber of her being. She was the epitome of Christ's everlasting love. She was a fighter, but she rests easy now that her fight is done. She joins both of her mothers in heaven, in the grace of the Virgin's light, and in our hearts until we are all reunited again. Heaven has gained an angel. You were gone too soon, but we were blessed to have known you as long. "I hear you call my name, and it feels like home." It's not good bye, it's I'll see you later.
