Obituary of Jean Englehart Smith

Jean Englehart Smith of East Rochester passed away on March 29, 2021, just prior to her 100th birthday. Jean is predeceased by her husband, Robert F. Smith, son, James L. Smith and son-in-law, Gary E. Jones; survived by her daughter, Barbara Jones, daughter, Beverly (Frederick) Metz, son, Douglas (Lisa) Smith, and daughter-in-law, Kathy Smith. Jean was blessed with 11 grandchildren, Gregory, Kevin, Chris, Jennifer, Jeanne, James, John, Ashley, Courtney, Kaitlyn and Lindsay; 17 great-grandchildren, brother, Erwin (Kathy), and sister-in-law, Joy, and many nieces and nephews. Mom received loving and compassionate care at the Episcopal Church Home for nearly 5 years and we are very grateful. Memorial contributions may be made to the Episcopal Church Home, 505 Mt. Hope Avenue, Rochester, NY. 14620 or to the Rochester Girl Scouts, 4433 Genesee Street, Suite 101, Buffalo, NY 14225 in tribute to her many years of service with them. A private burial service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Penfield, NY.
