Obituary of Edward Stephen Dunn

EAST ROCHESTER - December 22, 1941 – July3, 2021 Ed leaves his wife and soulmate, LindaBerger-Dunn, son, Steven Dunn ( Lisa), daughter, Karen Clendenin (Jamie), step daughter, Dr.Marcy Berger (Martin Presberg), step son, AlanBerger (Ann), grandchildren Quincy, Delaneyand Felicity Dunn, Nahoma, Matan, Avi and Shira Presberg. Ed was born in Pittsford on the canal, and grew up in Romulus, Seneca County. He specialized in computer hardware and then, as a second career, became a physical therapist assistant. He was a modern day renaissance man with special creativity for problem solving and outstanding humor. He loved to help family and friends with love and affection for all. He was a devoted karate black belt and spent many hours with long bicycle rides and playing pickleball. He loved canoeing on Mendon Ponds, watching birds and collecting rocks, gardening, eating good foods and ice cream, drinking wines, and listening to all kinds of music. He loved to travel with Linda. He renovated an old house which became their long term home where he built a fish pond and a frog pond, excitedly watched for deer in his woods, and played with every cat and dog available. A favorite talking point was his time in the Navy. Special thanks to the staffs at Creekstone, Highland Hospital and St. John’s Home for their wonderful caring and assistance, and in particular, thanks to Dr. Fred Marshall at UR Memory Care unit. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 4:30-6:00 p.m.at Harloff Funeral Home, 803 South Washington Street, East Rochester. Edwards’s funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 10:30 a.m. at the All Season’s Chapel, White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Road, Pittsford.
