I met Tom 20 years ago in San Jose, CA. I lived there as an exchange student and we lived in the same apartment complex on Palm Valley Blvd. I remember the day like it was yesterday. We instantly became friends and he was my very first boyfriend. I will never forget how happy he made me.
We had such an amazing time and he was so supportive and helping me living there.
After I went back to Germany we still stayed very close friends and I visited him through all these years regularly. He became my American family. No matter what happened I knew I could count on him.
We always had so much fun and we still laughed about things that happened 20 years ago. He was one of my favorite and most important people in my life. There was just this unbreakable bond and love between us - no matter how many years passed by.
I loved Tom so much and words can’t express how much I’m going to miss him.
My love and heart goes out to Joseph and his mom Pearl who he both loved more than anything else.
I will be forever grateful that I was blessed to have Tom in my life and share so many wonderful memories with him.
I will miss him every day for the rest of my life.

My heart goes out to Joseph and Pearl for this great loss in their lives and in all of our lives. I met Thomas through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We studied the scriptures together weekly for many months. I enjoyed these times to together so much. We shared our experiences and thoughts about important things in life. I will greatly miss Thomas.

I can't even put into words what this loss means to me. I met Tom in California taking web development classes in Silicon Valley. He was in the class right before mine. We became good friends and eventually roommates. Many good memories. Tom was a very good person with a big heart. After we left our days in California he moved back to NY and I moved to TN. We always stayed in touch and he was even in my wedding. He always talked about his son Joseph and loved him very much. I will always cherish the good times with Tom. I will miss him very much.

Tom loved his son Joseph more than anything. He was always so proud of him. We knew Tom from Joseph’s soccer games both club and varsity. He was always so excited to cheer Joseph on and announce his name from the broadcast booth. This a true tragedy. We are here for you Joseph. Love Chuck, Rachel, Paige, and Ethan
