Obituary of Howard Donald Brown

Howard D Brown May 17, 1931– October 16, 2021 He is predeceased by his parents, Robert John Brown and Grace Brasser; siblings, Eugene Brown, William Bruce Brown, Carolyn McPhee; son, Timothy Brown; son-in-laws, Cecil Van Houten and John Kiever; granddaughter, Erin Lucas; and great granddaughter, Julia. Howard is survived by his wife of 69 years, Anita A. Dehn Brown; children, Connie Van Houten, Beckie Kiever, Sherrie (Robert) Lucas, Terrie (Cal) Good, Judie (John) Gordon, Rory (Joyce) Brown and Dann (Pamela) Dehn; grandchildren, Jason Elliott, Courtney (Shawn) Costello, Justin Van Houten, Jenny (Keith) Menges, Gabriel (Jacqueline) Kiever, Rachel (Scott) Powell, Kristy (Tim) Woodcock, Katie (Steve) Montanaro, Holly (Justin) Pealo, Justin (Kelly) Bowers, Heidi Fussle, Wesley (Lyssa) Bowers, John Gordon IV, Annie Gordon, Caleb (Candi) Gordon, Travis Brown, Amber (Adam) Schmitt, Joseph Doty, Ashley Messmer and Mary Messmer; twenty-five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and beloved dog, Charli. Howard went home to be with his Lord on October 16. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather. He met the Lord when he was a young man and was forever changed. He was a great friend and teacher. He led by example and was willing to share himself and his knowledge with everyone he knew. He was self-employed by his company, HD Brown Electric beginning in 1982, and worked in many buildings in the Rochester NY area. He was known a man of integrity. Family and friends may call at Harloff Funeral Home, 803 S. Washington Street, East Rochester, Monday, November 1, 2021 from 4-8 PM where his Memorial Service will be held Tuesday at 11 AM. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideons International.
