Obituary of Rita L. Hanley

PENFIELD - Rita peacefully passed away in her daughter, Eileen’s armson Tuesday, November2, 2021, two months shyof her 102nd birthday (1/28/1920). She is pre-deceased by her first husband, Richard G. Englert(6/2/1970) and secondhusband, Joseph Hanley (10/21/1996), daughter, Karen Englert (1/29/1979) and step-daughter, Joann Hanley Wilson (Pat)( 6/14/2014) of Knoxville, Tennessee. Rita is survived by her loving family, daughters, Rita Strohmeyer, Carol (John) Golden, Eileen (Mike) Mueller; sons, Richard Englert (Lucille Romano) and Kevin (Marianne) Englert; grandchildren, Brian Strohmeyer, Andrew Golden, Kristin Strohmeyer Keeney, Joseph Strohmeyer, Karen Mueller, Eric (Nina) Mueller, Maggie (Nick Lochner) Englert, JJ (Alexa) Englert, Bonnie Golden; great grandchildren, AJ and Alyssa Golden, Tyler and Jonny Keeney, Ryder Mahar, Norah and Holden Perkins, Lucas Mueller, Nicholaus Lochner, Luna Englert and baby expected April 2022; special cousin, Helen Kelly Brink. Rita was a 1938 graduate of Our Lady of Mercy High School, retiree of Dollinger, 50+ year member of Holy Spirit Church, Penfield, NY, and a member of the former Catholic Women’s Club. A special thank you to her doctor, Stephen Meloni, caregivers, Christine and Vera and staff of Touching Hearts at Home. Mom much loved spending time with her family and friends and they adored her. We will always remember Sunday dinners always at 1:00 pm sharp. Rita’s “hobby” was well known to her family and friends. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 5 from 4-7 pm. at Harloff Funeral Home, 803 S. Washington Street, East Rochester. Her funeral mass will be Saturday, November 6 at 11:30 a.m. Church of the Holy Spirit, 1355 Hatch Road (corner of Hatch Road and Plank Road) Donations in her memory may be made to Golisano Children’s Hospital or to Michael J.
