My deepest condolences to the family with the loss of Bob. He was always pleasant and engaging to talk with when I would see him in our hallways at the Damon City Campus. He will be deeply missed.

So sad to hear Robert Nenno passed away! He was my best friend from age 5 as we attended school together through Sr. graduation. I used to call him "Nen" and he called me "Gui" and I don't know how that came about but I never met such a wonderful guy like Bob was and he is now for certain at peace for eternity in the special house of our Creator and I am so saddened Bob you left but I know the Lord is fortunate to welcome you to Heaven! You were the most honest guy I ever knew and had a great sense of humor too! I recall the day you were at my parent's home at approximate age 14 or so and you noticed my mom had placed several hard boiled eggs in a bowl on the counter in the kitchen and you asked me "Why were they there?" We both laughed and I chased you into the living room and broke an egg on the top of your head and we laughed so hard! I was so fortunate to have met you Bob and never knew another person who was as close to perfect as you buddy! You were the best! You always wrote peace and love at the end of all you wrote. That is just as you were. At peace, and full of love my friend! I will never forget all the fun times we had! You are now home with God right where you belong but you are SO missed my friend. Peace and love to you forever from Peter Goddard. Amen.

Our cousin Bobby. Always had a smile and always made us laugh. We loved the stories he would tell us. He genuinely loved life. We will miss him very much. Our condolences to Corine and her family, to his brother Jim and to all who knew and loved him.

A lover of peace, a renaissance man; he could make beautiful things out of wood, sew curtains for his beloved van, bake delicious bread, make home made Arepas, and fix just about anything. He was a gifted teacher. He had a green thumb, nurturing his many house plants, some of them probably older then I was! He loved telling stories and talking to people, and I swear he knew 1/2?of Rochester. Kind and generous and a mentor to my son and others. He loved Joni Mitchell and he was an amazing dancer. He was so many things…. Young at heart, eternally curious. He will be missed. Beth Fischer

I offer my deepest sympathies to Corine and to all of you who were related to Robert. Corine, your dad was a rare human being with a heart full of compassion that was boundless. I came to know Robert rather late in my career at Monroe Community College, but every moment with him was full of lessons that now flood my memory of him. Robert had an incredibly forgiving heart. He could let go of peoples' flaws and focus on what was the good in them. At times when I would complain about someone he would gently laugh, knowing I was right, but never dwelling on the flaw of that person. He was a gifted teacher who helped students access mathematics. While teaching students in the Monroe County jail he wrote each a letter at the end of the semester. He tutored many students to get them through challenges. For me personally, Robert was there to encourage me along as I faced the daunting task of getting out of my house that I lived in for 30 years. He had expressed a hope that he would come to visit me in my new locale, New York city. I regret that he did not because he used to send me emails from a friend of the writings of a keen observer of the city and hoped he could visit some of the sites. He wanted to come by train because he loved them. And of course, I used to vicariously feast on his adventures in Mexico and Paris!
There is so much more I could remember, relate. But I leave with this observation. Robert is still very much alive in my consciousness because of the lessons I took away from him. The most important being that the world is better for acts of simple generosity and kindness. May this dear friend, rest in peace.

Bob (second cousin once removed as he always reminded me - with a diagram lol) was one of the kindest and gentlest humans I have ever known. He visited and helped my grandmother - his Auntie as he called her - which was not always easy!!! She was a little cranky sometimes - but he was always so kind to her. He would even go over in the winter and brush off her car for her if he knew she had to go somewhere. My mother, sister, and I enjoyed visiting and doing dinner's with Bob. He always had interesting stories to share with us - and we loved the warm sweet person that he was. He will be greatly missed by many. Love you brother Bob......

Hi Donna!
I’m so glad you found out. I’ve been trying to find your contact information as I know how important you, your mom, and sisters were to Bob. I have several pictures of you and your family that Bob sent me over the years - last one was taken when you all went to his house during the Corn Hill Festival. Bob has surely joined his beloved Auntie Jean.

Robert will be missed. I met him at a Cajun Zydeco dance and at our dance lessons with Esther Brill in the Rochester Swing Dance Community. He was always a kind, gentle and very respectful dancer. Danced very gracefully while waltzing.
Sending love.❤️

Dear Corine, Joe, Brendan, Douglas, James, Joan and all who loved Robert: You have our deepest sympathy as we grieve the loss of one of our closest friends. I first met Robert (aka"Robbie") in swing dance classes 30 some years ago. We remained friends over the years and Robert met Lou and I for coffee almost weekly at Boulder Coffee. After we moved to Florida, we stayed in close touch via text, mail & email. He was the kindest, most compassionate, caring friend one could dream of having. He was a mentor to many and always there to offer a ride home from the airport, or to a doc appointment. His two vehicle license plates said: PEACE and NOT WAR. That tells you so much about him. He always gave us Peace & Justice calendars. He taught me the charleston dancing the length of Clarissa Street one day at their festival. He loved festivals and "outings." I've uploaded some photos, one with me in 2003, and other undated ones he texted me, w young Corine, with friends, and alone wearing a green knit scarf I gave him. We are reciting a Buddhist Memorial Prayer for him for 49 days now and hold his family and all who loved him in our hearts as we all grieve his loss. May we all by a little bit more Robert to keep his spirit with us always! Elaine Heveron & Lou Faber

Roberto (as we called him) has left in all of us who new him, good memories of the kind, generous, thoughtful human being he was. He thought highly of my parents, and especially of my sister, Maria (his wife of 11 years)! I am so very glad I got to see him this past July.
My heartfelt condolence to his daughter, family and dear friends. May Roberto rest in peace, and I am certain we will see each other in eternity!

I think I first met Robert at the Penfield McDonalds where I worked as a teenager. He would stop in every Saturday morning for a coffee and he was my nicest regular customer. I then attended MCC where he was my favorite teacher of all time. Seriously, he helped me catch up with my math skills since I totally blew my grades in High School. It's because of him that I was able to go on to complete an Engineering degree. Years later, I met him at my first dance class lesson. He became a great friend and one of my favorite dance partners. He was so remarkable, and so open. God I will miss him in this life, but I'm sure I'll see him again in the next.

I was a student of Mr. Nenno in the early 70's, and a student aid in the MCC Math Dept. '69-'71. The dept. took great care of me...turned my life around. "Benny" (as he was more commonly known) was very kind and helpful to me, and we've kept in touch over the years. This is a tremendous loss to all who knew him. He had a truly beautiful outlook on life. May he be at peace and may all those who mourn his loss be comforted in and from knowing him.

So sorry to hear of his passing. He was a beloved friend and a good man. I knew Robert originally from the Genesee Co-op, but remember him most fondly from our dancing days. We have a photo on our wall of him dancing Lindy Hop - it's how I'll always remember our kind, thoughtful, gentle friend.
