Obituary of Carol J. Brooks

Carol J Brooks, 75, of Webster NY passed away on March 31st at the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center. Predeceased by her parents, Louis and Helen Gitzendanner and her father-in-law James H Brooks. Survived by her husband of 52 years Henry W. Brooks.: 2 sons and their spouses, Andrew Brooks (Patricia) and Clinton Brooks (Manoj): 2 brothers, George Gitzendanner (Rita) and Raymond Gitzendanner (Debi): a sister Alice Hahn (Tony): a grandson Miguel Brooks (Eunice): 2 great grandchildren, Ondrea Brooks and Zachaeus Brooks ; mother-in-law Christine J Brooks: sister-in law Pamela Wilcox (Riley) and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Carol spent her early years raising her family in New Woodstock NY. She volunteered as both a 4H leader as well as a Scout leader and was the recipient of many awards. She enjoyed the freedom offered by piecework around town as it allowed her to tend to a 60X80 foot garden and process its bounty. She loved frequent short vacations in Vermont where her husband was born. Carol received a BA from Utica College in 1969 and an MA from Empire State College in 1998. She held various positions in the field of education including teaching and tutoring at SUNY Morrisville and Cazenovia College as well as Director of the Tutor Center at SUNY Morrisville. After moving to Webster she taught at MCC and FLCC. A Celebration of Life will be held this fall.
