Dorothy Joyce Bird On Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 88. She was born June 22, 1934 in Rochester, NY. Joyce is predeceased by her parents, Maud Nevin Bird Northrup and Paul H. Bird; her sister, Cheryl J. Bird Lange Asmuth; great-nephew, Jeffrey Church; step-father, Russell O. Northrup; step-sister, June H. Barker; step-brother, Rusty E. Northrup; and great friend, Harriet Leyson. Joyce is survived by her brother, Richard Bird; many nephews and nieces and their children, including Todd (Jenelle) Lange (their children, Siena and Marisa), Mitch (Michele) Lange (their children, Kelly and Brandon), Karen (Glen) Church (their son, Matthew) and Wendy (Harry) Lathrop (their children, Cory and Kristy); cousin, Judy (Bob) Salmon; and great friend, Richard Barker. Joyce was a graduate of School 37, West High School (1952) and Rochester Business Institute (1953). She studied Psychology at the University of Rochester. Joyce became a flight attendant in 1955 for Eastern Airlines. Then she had her own business, J & J Printing Service before finding her true passion as a field representative for the Women’s International Bowling Congress. Joyce was a champion of women, positivity, strength and independence. She was always eager to become a better person and educate herself. She was a true friend and supporter to all who were lucky enough to know her. Everyone that knew Joyce would tell you how uplifting, positive and happy she was. Joyce has truly made a remarkable impact on all that knew her. At her request, no service will be held. She will be laid to rest at White Haven Memorial Park. Donations may be directed to the Fairport Baptist Homes, 4646 Nine Mile Point Road, Fairport in her memory.
