Frederick C. Schicker Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Frederick C. Schicker, 2/4/2023 at the age of 80.

Fred grew up in Irondequoit, NY. He attended St. Margaret Mary, West Irondequoit High School, then Mohawk Valley Community College. Fred had a love of the outdoors, including hunting, golfing, gardening, fishing, camping and snowmobiling, (he was called “The Red Baron”). He was known to work on projects in the late night hours and was referred to as “Flashlight Freddie” by neighbors/friends. Fred was a master toolmaker for 40 years and was revered for designing complicated tool jobs for customers. He took great pride and joy in his work, but his greatest pride and joy was his family, who loved him dearly. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy, his daughter Donna (Kevin), son Steven (Michele) and grandchildren Christopher, Emily, Colleen (and their dad Phil), Savanah and Julia. He is predeceased by his sister Dorothy and parents George (Judy) and Lillian.

Fred's Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, April 15 at 10:30 a.m., St. Jerome's Church, 207 Garfield Street, East Rochester.
