Obituary of Peter Francis Yaman

Peter passed away on April 6th 2023 in New York City. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Roseann Palma Yaman. Peter's Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 15th 2023 at 12:00noon in St. Jerome's Church, 207 Garfield St., East Rochester. Entombment will follow in White Haven Memorial Park. Peter is a US Navy Veteran and a graduate of Syracuse University with a BA in Communications. Following graduation, he moved to New York City to work as a Copy Writer with ABC. This was the start of his long career in television program syndication. Over time he held positions with Group W (Westinghouse) Syndication, Viacom, Television Program Enterprises and King World Productions holding positions of Sales Executive, Vice President and General Manager. During his tenure he handled the launch of several hit programs such as, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, The Oprah Winfrey Show, Mike Douglas Show, Merv Griffin Show, Life Styles of the Rich and Famous, Solid Gold, Family Feud, Little Rascals, Hollywood Squares and Inside Edition. Peter had many more successful shows too numerous to list them all. He was also an avid sports enthusiast who was proficient in all racket sports. He completed five NY Marathons, was an avid Yankee and Giants fan and served on the Board of Governors for the New York Athletic Club.
