Obituary of Chester William Nothhard

Nothhard, Chester W. Pittsford: May 1, 2013 at the age of 89 years. Predeceased by a son, Brian William Nothhard. Survived by his wife, Muriel; children, Lynn N. Smith (Gary), Gregory A. Nothhard (Diane) & Gary E. Nothhard; grandchildren, Kelly Smith, Timothy Smith (Karen), Christopher Nothhard, Nicole Nothhard, William Nothhard, Caitlin Nothhard & Michael Nothhard; great grandchildren, Sullivan & Jaidyn Nothhard and Evan Smith; sister, Dorothy Leidig (David); several nieces & nephews. Chester was a US Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII (Staff Sgt.) He was a ball turret gunner on a B-24 stationed out of Italy and flew 30 missions over Europe. Member of Rayson-Miller American Legion Post #899 - Pittsford. Chester was retired from Gannett where he worked as a typographer for 30 years. A self-taught magician, Chester put on magic shows for children at both private functions and charity events following his retirement, and he volunteered at Highland Hospital for over 20 years. He was a longtime member of The First Presbyterian Church of Pittsford. Friends may call SUNDAY May 5th 2-4, 6-8pm at the HARLOFF Funeral Home 803 South Washington Street in East Rochester. On MONDAY May 6th there will be a Graveside Service with Military Honors at 9:30am in White Haven Memorial Park, to be followed by a Memorial Service at 10:30am at The First Presbyterian Church of Pittsford. At the conclusion of the Memorial Service there will be a reception at the church.
