Ira helped me many times decades ago as a serious coin collector. We used to meet in Baltimore. His funny humor always came thru and rang thru. Ira was a true intellectual steeped in honestly genuine blue collar roots. I will miss him.

My condolence to all of Ira’s family. I worked with Ira at Xerox and Ira found us our first double house in his real estate sideline. He introduced us to the concept of owning rental real estate for an investment. I am sure he leaves you with many fun memories. Elsie Menz (Stolberg)

Ira was my son-in-law’s father. Though we didn’t spend a lot of time together, I have always enjoyed talking with him and hearing about him through his son, Mike. When we did have a chance to see each other in person, he was very respectful to me and pleasant to be around. We will all miss him very much. May God grant his family and friends an extra amount of peace and strength during this time.

Ira…
Miracle man…comedian… intellectual… goofball…sweet… ornery…loving…kind…exasperating…fun…father-in-law. You were all these things to me and much more! Oh, how you will be missed!
From warmly welcoming me into the family more than 27 years ago, to pretending to be an insurance agent or a debt collector sometimes when calling just to get a laugh (even after caller ID), every moment will be cherished and remembered. Especially memorable was the time Rachel or Sarah brought you your shoes for our outing and you commented multiple times throughout the day whether feet could still grow at your age or if your shoes had shrunk. At the end of the day, when Mike said, “Hey Dad, I have shoes just like that!,” I immediately dissolved into laughter, realizing what had happened. All of us began laughing even more that they were a size too small AND were not even the same shoes as yours. Thanks for another round of laughing through tears as I write this.
Yours was a life well lived and I feel blessed to have been a part of it. I pray you are in complete peace and joy now and forever.
With much love,
Your grateful daughter-in-law, Andrea

my earliest (and best) memory with my grandpa ira was when i was around 5 or 6. he was visiting from out of town and i remember seeing him shave his face. not knowing what he was doing i asked him. instead of just explaining it, he had me and my sister sarah put on one of his shirts, and let us shave our face with him. (with a dull razor of course.) because of memories like that he is going to live on through me forever. - with love, Rachel

I was told from an early age that when I was born I resembled my grandpa Ira and to many that was a funny joke but I take it as a compliment. I got the pleasure of hearing his funny jokes and crazy stories from all throughout his life. He will be missed by many and talked about for generations and years to come of how great a grandpa he was. Love from his granddaughter, Sarah Stein❤️

I met Ira as the landlord for my insurance agency in 1975, within a few hours be became my friend. His jokes ( many were hysterical, many more were absolutely terrible!) Ira was one of a kind.
The days he would play, like a kitten with a ball of yarn, with salespeople who came to his office to sell him cleaning products, or carpet for the office, or painting the building - it was like watch a master lead a student through a complicated dance only to see Ira buy something from them - so it wasn't just a game to him, he knew he was teaching them a lesson and then rewarding them at the end.
Ira's love for his sons, his sorrow when Michael died. Ira's stories, his "famous potato salad," his passion for his livelihood's and the even greater passion for his hobbies. Oh, and he loved selling things - it didn't matter what he was selling or on whose behalf he was selling something, his eyes lit up with glee! He loved the art of negotiation; if you were on the other side of the sale, you never really won, but you thought that you did.
Maria, I'm so sorry for your loss; I know that you will miss Ira, but I hope the memories of him and his loveable antics will help.
I have lost too many good friends over the last couple of years, but thinking of Ira doesn't make me sad - it brings a big smile to my face.

Hey Dad. I know you are up in heaven reconnecting with long departed family members. I know you are telling them jokes and making everybody laugh like you were known to do!
Although I will miss our calls, I have a lifetime of memories and stories to tell about the "self described flamboyant coin dealer" (inside joke).
We will make sure those that are still on earth remember the legacy and a life well lived.
See you on the other side!
Love,
Your son
