Obituary of Helen M. Burris

Helen M. “Mimi” Burris On August 17, 2023 Helen passed away peacefully at the age of 85 after a courageous battle with dementia. Helen was born on August 16, 1938, in Lewiston, NY, to Bernard and Helen Guinan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 2007 as well as her son, Terry, in 2022. She is survived by her son, Randy (Margo) Burris, daughter, Debby (Joe) Perkowski, daughter-in- law, Rosanne Burris, and grandchildren, Scott (Sam), Shanna (Ben) and Kyle, great-grandchildren, Robert, Isabella, Sydney and Patrick, several nieces and nephews. Helen was a fearless, independent woman who always put others first. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed cooking, painting, quilting and crafts of all kinds. But above all, she cherished the time spent with her family and friends sharing her love and knowledge. After losing the love of her life, she devoted the rest of her life to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and the others that called her “Mimi”. The family will have a private service at Harloff Funeral Home, followed by internment at White Haven Memorial Park. Her family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
