With a heavy heart we announce the passing of Joseph Papa, 92, of Fairport, New York, on January 12, 2024 in Lehigh, Florida. Joe is predeceased by his brother, Thomas Papa and sister, Mary Jean Smith. He was born and raised in Fairport. He worked over 43 years in the quarry in Penfield, NY, as an Operating Engineer. Upon retirement, the sun of SW Florida drew him to a small community where he was a jack of all trades for many years.

He leaves his wife of 47 years, Patricia, and children, David Papa (Jay), Sandra Papa, Lorie Roethel (Bob) and Gail Kucharik (John); step children,Thomas Smith and Kelly Kralles (Karl); grandchildren Kristofer Kralles (Jessica), Kevin Kralles (Ashley), Kameron Kralles (Hailey) and Kyle Smith; great grandchildren Karson and Kassidey Kralles and many nieces and nephews. Joe’s main goal, which was fulfilled during his lifetime, was to be a caring and loving husband, father and grandfather. He has left a huge hole in our lives and will be missed beyond measure. Family and friends are invited to visitation for Joe and Patricia on Monday, June 10th 2024 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Harloff Funeral Home.
