Nancy was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1945, to Warren Chambers and Irma Jean Chambers. She graduated from Frontier High School in 1963. She went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from the University of Buffalo. Nancy’s life was a beautiful quilt stitching together love, joy and cherished moments with family, friends, and colleagues. A devoted wife, Nancy was married to her wonderful husband, Gene Tonucci, for 58 years. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering support. Their love was a testament to the enduring power of commitment and partnership. As a loving mother, Nancy leaves behind her beloved children, Tammy, with her husband, Michael, and granddaughters, Brenna and Audrey, and Todd, with his wife, Libby, and grandson, Cole. Nancy is also survived by her sister, Marsha, and Gary, her husband. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jean and Warren and her grandson, Samuel. Nancy’s guidance, love, and nurturing spirit will forever live on in her family’s hearts. Beyond her roles as wife, mother, and sister, Nancy worked in administration at the Church of the Incarnate Word in Rochester for 28 years. She had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures of life. An avid reader, she could often be found immersed in the pages of her latest book. Her dedication to her daily walks regardless of the weather was legendary, finding peace and enjoyment in her time outside. Family trips to the Outer Banks and the Adirondacks held a special place in her heart. She loved the sound of ocean waves crashing on the beach, spending hours watching for dolphins or listening for loons lakeside. Nancy was a cherished friend to many, whether from her years of playing bridge, from years as a neighbor and daily walker, interaction through her work, or all the way back to her high school and college years. She could always be counted on for a bright smile, coupled with kindness and compassion for all who crossed her path. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will continue to inspire those who were touched by her presence.
