Obituary of Donald L DeVito

East Rochester: Donald L. DeVito passed away peacefully with his children at his side on Tuesday morning, March 19, 2024, at the age of 84. Predeceased by his parents, Michael, Sr. and Virginia (Mastracci) DeVito; brother, John “Jackie” DeVito; and lifelong friend and mother to his children, Carol Koneski. Survived by his children, Kelly Coccho (Jay Stubbe) and Michael (Ellen) DeVito; grandchildren, Frankie, Izzy, Bethany, Emily, Nathan and great grandson Jaxen; brothers, Jimmy “Dino” (Barbara) DeVito, Michael (Lynn) DeVito, nieces and nephews. Don was born on September 22, 1939, in Rochester, NY. He was a 1957 graduate of East Rochester High School. Don then enlisted in the US Navy where he served for two years. He worked at Roehlen Engraving for a period before he attended Roberts, Walsh Stenotype School and graduated in 1971. Don enjoyed a long career with the New York State Unified Court System and enjoyed being a court reporter. In fact he inspired his younger brother and two kids to follow in his footsteps. Don was an avid golfer and truly devoted to his children and his family. The family received friends on Monday, March 25th from 4-7pm at the HARLOFF Funeral Home 803 South Washington Street in East Rochester. Donald’s Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10am on Tuesday, March 26th at St. Jerome’s Church. The family welcomes friends and family of Donald to attend a graveside service for him and Carol on Thursday, May 16th at 11am at White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Rd., Pittsford, NY. Please meet at the gate.
