Obituary of Marvin Noblett

Marvin Noblett, 87, passed peacefully in his sleep Tuesday morning March 26th, 2024. Marvin was born on January 31st 1937, in Rochester, NY, the first of three sons to Robert and Evelyn Noblett who both moved to New York from Ontario Canada with their families. Marvin graduated from Edison Tech High School in 1957, following which he owned and operated the Mobil Service Station on the corner of Church and Main in Fairport, NY, where he met his bride-to-be, Sharon Mamo-Berger. He was also an Army Reservist from 1958 to 1964. Marv sold his service station business to begin a successful career at Kodak in order to spend more time with his family. Upon retirement, he spent nearly 25 years happily driving or monitoring children on school busses for National/Laidlaw and the Irondequoit School District. During all those years, Marv was known to be passionate about Harley Davidson motorcycles and taking his kids for rides in the sidecar; classic cars - his favorite being the ‘57 Pontiac; meticulously building additions onto his house at his own pace; tinkering; wrenching; woodworking; restoring unique items and antiques; and above all spending time with his family. Marv also had a penchant for the bagpipes and he fully embraced his Scottish heritage. He had an insatiable sweet-tooth and was a hopeless romantic towards his wife. He was shy to the public, but doted on his family. He enjoyed going out for coffee with the guys, attending classic car meetups, and all things WWII Aircraft. Marv was humble, wildly brilliant and a gentle soul. Whether he was known as your Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Papa, Friend, Bus Driver, Mechanic, Coworker or Neighbor, he will be greatly missed by all. Marvin is predeceased by his parents, Robert (1968) and Evelyn (1956), and his brother, Russell (1972). He is survived by his brother, Gary Noblett; his loving wife of 59 years, Sharon (Mamo-Berger); their 4 children with their spouses, and 10 grandchildren: Daniel and Rosemary (Yu Yang) Noblett; Kristian and Sarah (Mady) Noblett with their children, Graham and Laura; Julianna (Noblett) and Tom Wright, with their children Jeffrey and Travis Crawford, and Clive Wright; Russell and La’Char (Spainbey) Noblett with their children Kaden, Selena, Chase, Rosalena, and Landon. In celebration of Marvin’s extraordinary life, we invite all who knew him to join in remembrance with his family on Saturday April 6th, 2024, at Harloff Funeral Home in East Rochester from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Wounded Warrior Project or the American Heart Association, in Marv’s name, would be sincerely appreciated.
