July 30, 1950 – September 6, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Carlo Trovato, who left us on September 6, 2024, at the age of 74. Born in Antillo, Sicily, on July 30, 1950, Carlo immigrated to the United States in 1969, where he made his home in Rochester, NY.

Carlo was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 48 years, Jane Trovato, and a loving father to their daughter, Holly (and her husband Michael). His greatest joy came from his role as a Nonno to Mia, Elyssa, and Michael, with whom he shared countless cherished moments. He is also survived by his brother, Santino (Mima) Trovato; sister-in-law, Diane Albano, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carlo is predeceased by his father, Salvatore Trovato, mother, Guiseppina Bongiorno, brothers, Elio Trovato and Natalino Bongiorno, and many beloved cousins.

A skilled mechanic by trade, Carlo’s talents extended beyond his profession. His lifelong passions included soccer, Formula 1 racing, and the art of winemaking. He enjoyed watching sports, never having a favorite team, simply wanting to see a good, competitive game. He found joy in "hunting for fish,” playing Scopa, and having a cognac with family and friends. Known for his love of a hearty meal, Carlo earned the nickname “the surgeon” for his meticulous way of savoring every bit of steak.

A celebration of Carlo’s life will be held on Monday September 9, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 at Harloff Funeral Home, 803 South Washington St, East Rochester, NY. There will be a prayer service at 7:15 pm following the visitation.
