Dear Carol,
Carol sorry to hear above your beloved husband. My favorite memory of John is when he came over to the house and my son Charlie answered the door. Looking at John through the eyes of a four year old he told John you are full. That’s right Sonny he replied I am full figured!! He always treated my kids like family and they have wonderful memories of him that will last a lifetime.

I've known John and Carol approximately 25 years and had the good fortune to be included in their circle of friends that were invited to their camp on Pleasant Lake We had such good times and I realized while there that nothing gave John more pleasure than being with his good friends and family.
Over the past 10 years John and I would have breakfast once a week when we were both in town or both healthy enough to go out. What a joy! We laughed and joked and rehashed all the good times had with friends and family. John often said how lucky he had been to travel, enjoy cruises and vacations, some of which were with family and friends no longer with us, while he was younger and able to get around better. He certainly didn't like the ravages of time on his body. All and all John had a full life. I'm glad that I was included in a portion of it and I will miss him the rest of my days.
My love and condolences to the entire Golden clan.
Sharon

I feel I've known John and Carol forever. Met through Motorola and spent many a weekend together. So many wonderful memories and great times. Been through the good and not so good times together. John always had a smile on his face and something to make you laugh. He will be greatly missed by Carol and his family. You have so many memories to share together. My deepest condolences. Linda

My good friend Johnny, told all of our collective friends and acquaintances and for that matter, anyone who would listen to him, that he knew me before I was born! He remembered my Mom pregnant with me walking over to see his Mom and Grandparents at Pleasant Lake. We spent summers together at PL, the 4 year difference in age didn't seem to matter much. One of his favorite stories was the summer when he and the other kids on our side of the lake tagged me to ride across the lake to go to Jessie Nepage's store where she sold penny candy and ice cream. I was 10 years old I think when some of the miscreants living across the lake, kids about our ages, knocked me off the bike after I had gotten the sweets, beat me up and stole the candy. When I got back and reported this to Johnny, he assembled a posse to go over to get our goodies and show our force. It was probably a great idea at the time that he brought his pellet gun with him. And off we went! We found them, words were thrown back and forth and some pushing and shoving when Johnny raised his pellet gun and popped a pellet into the ass of the gang leader! They took off, and we had won, but they got our candy.
Over the years as we grew up, our friendship grew also. He included me in his circle of friends. Many of whom made a pilgrimage to 'Wildwood' frequently every summer. They cooked delicious food and had the best gallon bottles of wine money could buy. There were jokes of course, without bounds. John took his place on the dock, under the umbrella where he held court, smoked a few cigars and engaged with his friends. I looked forward to him being at the lake each summer. We always had something to talk about, I valued his friendship and especially his honesty. We shared many family events. He loved his family and I think he loved mine too. Anyway, I will miss him, I will think of him often, and he can be proud to have on his headstone, he was a good guy and a true friend!

We met Beloved John, and Carol, 22 years ago, when they entered our lives and went straight into our hearts.
John lovingly calls us “Golden’s Goils,” a ‘title’ of which makes us proud.
Our love, and deepest condolences are sent to the Golden family; to dear John, know that you will be loved and missed forever, but always will be a very special part of our lives.
