Obituary of James Daniel Davis

James Daniel Davis passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024, at the age of 77, surrounded by his loved ones. He was predeceased by his father, James Bartow Davis, his mother, Marie Derenzo Davis, and his son, Todd Jeremy Davis.

James is survived by his ex-wife, Beverly Davis; sons, James (Shannon) Davis II and Robert (Jamie) Davis and grandchildren, Alicia Mrzywka, Daniel, Gavin, Nolan Davis, and Aubrey & Alaina McPhall and three sisters, Linda Cromer, Pat Kelly and Judy Kennedy.

James proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he earned the rank of Private First Class and the National Defense Service Medal. After his military service, he worked as a machinist at Ness Precision Products.

In his leisure time, James developed a passion for woodworking, creating beautiful clocks, plaques, mirrors, and other handcrafted pieces for his family and friends. He also loved spending time outdoors, often seen cruising the canal path or through the town of Fairport on his scooter with his dear friends, George and Sandy.

A proud member of the NRA and several veterans' organizations, James leaves behind a legacy of service, craftsmanship, and cherished memories with his family and friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on December 27, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Harloff Funeral Home, 803 South Washington Street, East Rochester, NY 14445.  Interment will take place at Groveplace Cemetery, 2775 Chili Ave, Rochester, NY 14624, on December 28, 2024, at noon, with full military honors.
