All one has to do is mention Mrs. Punt or "Muzzie" and a smile will come across all who knew her. She was and will always be a dear friend. Just read the beautiful tributes here and you will know how many lives she touched.

What a beautiful tribute to Beryl. Thank you for sharing her story. Muzzie, as she was known to me, was such a wonderful, warm, and caring friend. My two sons were blessed to have had her as their teacher at one point in their lives. She taught them so many things in her own unique way and always with love and devotion. 13 years ago my family moved away from Rochester and Muzzie and I carried on a friendship through letters the old fashioned way. She always embellished her letters to me with illustrations of horses and sunflowers and they always made me smile. I am glad I saved some of them, wish I'd saved them all. On our summer visits back to Rochester, Muzzie was always high on our list of friends to see and we always did, each time we went back. Forever she will be in my heart. I miss her.

RIP Mrs. Punt You are loved and missed by many of your students from Lois E Bird.
So in remembrance of your vivid classroom, soft voice and loving heart a song that permeates through every student that graduated through kindergarten with you...
Best Friends should be together. That’s how it ought to be.
So let’s pretend I’m part of you, and you are part of me.
If you were a little shoe, I would be your heel.
If you were a little pig, I would be your squeal.
If you were a little peach, I would be your fuzz.
If you were a little bumble bee, I would be your buzz.
Best Friends should be together. That’s how it ought to be.
So let’s pretend I’m part of you, and you are part of me.
If you were a little elephant, I would be your trunk.
If you were a little chocolate cake, I would be your hunk.
If you were a little picture, I would be your frame.
But if you were nothing, I would like you just the same.
Best Friends should be together. That’s how it ought to be.
So let’s pretend I’m part of you, and you are part of me.

Beryl was a good friend at Colby. We also waitressed together at a resort on Long Lake in the Adirondacks the summer after graduation and then she was in my wedding in May of 1955.
She was a special person in so many ways and profoundly influenced me. I feel so lucky to have known her and am just sorry that in the ensuing years we were not able to see each other. People like Beryl don't come along very often in life and I'm glad I was in her path. My condolences to all her family whom I know she cherished and was so proud of.

One of my favorite memories of Muzzie was when she would make her famous "flower pot" ice cream desserts when Brenda and I were in high school. I also will cherish the memories of both of my son's going to "Moments with Muzzie" and loving every minute of it. She was a very special person and a great educator to us all!

My fondest memory of Mrs. Punt was when she taught my son in Kindergarten in East Rochester Elementary....what a FANTASTIC teacher she was! In her class, my son Ryan made a round cast circle of cement, with a penny inside of it with Mrs. Punt's name on it..it is still hung on our Christmas tree every year..she was so caring with her kinder kids...rest in peace Mrs. Punt! You will never be forgotten!

Mrs. Punt was one of the best teachers I ever had. She had such an imagination. Her passion for teaching was amazing. I am honored to have called her my teacher.
