Obituary of Edward Austin Fraser

Fraser, Edward A. East Rochester: September 10, 2013 at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife, Olive Knierim; children, Nathan (Ann) Fraser, Hilary (Patrice) Simard and Meredith Fraser; grandchildren, Kristen Feese, Olivia Fraser, and Dylan & Adrien Simard ; siblings Donald (Cis) Fraser & Sandra (Dan) Breakiron, nieces, nephews and many friends, colleagues and former students. Edward was born October 12, 1931 to the late Russell and Gladys Fraser in Clairton, PA, graduating with a BA from Pennsylvania State University at Lock Haven, and Masters from Alfred University in 1960. Prior to getting his MA, Edward served in the US Army in the 1st Logistical Division. Edward led the English Department at East Rochester High School until his retirement in 1994. He was a committed and passionate instructor of English Literature and worked with Nazareth College for an AP English classes offered at ERHS. Upon his retirement, Edward also worked as part of a team to improve programs and classes offered at the Rochester City School District. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 20 from 5-8 pm at HARLOFF Funeral Home, 803 South Washington Street in East Rochester. Ed's Memorial Service will be 11 am on Saturday, September 21 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 77 Country Corner Ln. in Fairport.
