Obituary of Anna M. DiStefano

DiStefano, Anna M (Parravano) Anna was born on January 1st, 1939 in Broccostella, Italy. She immigrated to the United States with her mother, brother and sister in 1958 to reunite with her father. On July 16, 1959 she wed her husband, Domenico in their hometown of Broccostella, Italy. They were blessed with 54 years of marriage during which she mothered their two children. During her life Anna worked as a seamstress at Hickey Freeman in East Rochester, NY from 1958 through 1968. Then she became a full time mother and housewife. Anna was a woman of great faith. All who knew her described her as unselfish and giving with all her heart. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends as well as traveling to Our Lady of Fatima and Niagra Falls. Taking long walks with her husband, either outdoors, along the Erie Canal or in a mall gave Anna great pleasure. Later in her life she acquired an appreciation for the sound of a slot machine ringing in the casino. Anna's many hobbies included sewing, cooking and baking, along with a passion for gardening. She was nurturing to all who knew her, especially the children around her whether family or friends. Anna always could be seen with a smile on her face. The beautiful sound of her laughter will be remembered by all who were fortunate to know her.
