Obituary of Margaret Upton

Upton, Margaret P. East Rochester: Margaret passed into God's loving arms on April 9, 2014 at the Fairport Baptist Homes. She was preceded in death by Lawrence O. Upton, her husband of 69 years. She leaves behind two daughters, Jane (Bud) Lawhun of Bucyrus, Ohio and Marla Wood (Mike Alban) of Taneytown, Maryland; grandson, James Upton Wood (Stephanie Buttrum), and great-grandson Hadyn Michael Wood; and many nieces and nephews. She and Lawrence lived in East Rochester for 56 years where Margaret was a long-time teacher and member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping and travel, especially to Alaska. Margaret also participated in the College Club and the Study Club. Flowers were a joy in her life, and she took great delight in growing and arranging them. She always had a bouquet on the dining table. Friends may call from 10:00 - 11:30am on SATURDAY May 3, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, 119 W. Elm St., East Rochester. A Memorial Service will follow in the Church Sanctuary at 11:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Margaret's name to the First Baptist Church or to the Fairport Baptist Homes.
