Obituary of Ross E. Schroll

Ross Edward Schroll of Fairport passed away on August 20, 2015 at age 76 after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his mother, Helen Swartz and his first wife, Sharon Schlater Schroll. Ross is survived by his loving and caring wife of 23 years, Sandy; sons, Edward and Michael; step-son, Jeff Smith; step-daughter, Pam Nelson; grandchildren, Tyler and Paige Nelson and Ryan Smith; brother, Sparky (Arlene); step-brother, Mike (Bonnie) Swartz; and his special four-legged friend, Bridgett. Ross was a respected engineer and retiree from the Xerox Corp. where he earned over 11 patents. He was a handyman and had the ability to fix almost anything, but he will be remembered most for his selflessness. Ross used his talents to help almost anyone who asked. He was the Past President and a Paul Harris Fellow of the East Rochester Rotary Club where he served on many committees. He was also a supporter of the East Rochester Community Resource Center but his special passion was the First Baptist Church of East Rochester where he was a member for over 50 years. Ross served on countless committees but his calling was to lead the trustees who maintain the 75 year old building. His leadership and guidance will be sorely missed. Ross was an avid hunter and spent many summers at his Conesus Lake home. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, August 25th from 10 AM to 12 NOON at the First Baptist Church of East Rochester, 119 West Elm Street, East Rochester where his Funeral Service will immediately follow.
