Obituary of Vincent James Antonio
Vincent James Antonio "Jim" "Papa" of East Rochester was born July 14, 1932 and passed away peacefully September 20, 2015 after an unexpected diagnosis with cancer. Predeceased by his loving wife of 61 years, Angie; precious son, Jimmy Jr.; parents, Josephine and Bove Antonio. He is survived by his dedicated and beloved daughter, Josie (Dan) Keller; grandchildren, Katie and Collin; sister, Domenica "Sis" Pizzo; sisters-in-law, Michelina Agosto and Jennie Agosto; many nieces, nephews and good friends. Jim was born and raised in Victor. He served in the Far East during the Korean Conflict in the First Calvary Division of the Army. Jim began his career as a dedicated science teacher in Red Jacket Central. He went on to own many successful businesses: ANBE Equipment, Sunday's Child Gift Shop and Roosevelt Mini-Mart. Jim also became a real estate agent in his later years. He was a voracious reader and loved to share his wealth of knowledge. His greatest joy came from being with his grandchildren, Katie and Collin. "Papa" was there for each and every event proudly cheering them on and will be missed. His smile was infectious and everyone he met fell in love with his personality. He brought joy to many people's lives. Everyone knew and loved "Papa". He was our family rock.
A special thank you to RGH 5th floor staff and Benincasa Hospice Home caregivers for your extra love and attention to our family. You are a talented group of angels that we were blessed with during these 2 devastating months.
Friends may call at Harloff Funeral Home, 803 South Washington St., East Rochester, Thursday 3-7 PM. Jim's Funeral Mass will be held Friday 10 AM at St. Jerome's Church, 207 Garfield St., East Rochester. Interment, White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Benincasa Hospice Home, 3880 Rush Mendon Road in Jim's memory.
