Obituary of Victoria Mae Marr

East Rochester: October 7, 2016 at age 76. Predeceased by her husband Lawrence; brother-in-laws: Vincent "Snookie" Kreyer & Fred Dezio, and sister-in-law Betty Kreyer. Survived by her three adored sons: John (Marie), Bill (Barb) and Rich (Suzanne); two loved sisters, Carmel Dezio and Joanne (John) Alfieri and their families; beloved grandchildren: Jerri, Billie Jo, Jamie, AJ (Stacy), Courtney and Emilee. Victoria was born in Rochester on January 19, 1940. She grew up in a home with loving parents Thomas & Ann Palermo on East Chestnut Street in the village of East Rochester. Upon meeting Lawrence Marr, her life was destined to change as the two fell in love and were married on May 13, 1960. Vicky’s passion quickly transitioned to raising her three boys as she devoted her life to create a home full of love for her family, both immediate and extended. Vicky’s faith was strong as her Christian belief came from a combined Catholic and United Methodist upbringing. Vicky worked as a server at both Runds Periwinkle and Midvale Country Club for decades before retiring. Vicky also enjoyed cooking as her famous rice pudding made its way to many table tops. She treasured preparing meals for her family, friends and neighbors alike. Vicky was known to all as a sincere, caring, and loving individual who always placed the needs of others ahead of her own. She will be dearly missed, as her infectious laugh and caring persona paved the way to a lifetime of treasured memories. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, 1-3 & 5-8 PM at HARLOFF Funeral Home, 803 South Washington Street in East Rochester. Vicky's Funeral Mass will be held 10 AM on Wednesday at St. Jerome's Church. Interment to follow at White Haven Memorial Park. Friends and Family are invited to "Celebrate Vicky’s Life" with a luncheon to follow at Midvale Country Club. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Lung Association, 1595 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, NY 14620.
