Wilbur H. "Bill" Cooper
Pittsford - On November 24, 2018 at age 101. Bill is predeceased by his wife, Margaret; sister, Doris Cooper-Rowe-Chapin; son-in-law, Kevin Glasheen. He is survived by his son, James M. Cooper (Kathleen Lightholder); daughter, Linda Cooper; grandchildren, Dr. Jonathan W. Cooper (Jennifer Cody), Christopher J. (Paula) Cooper, Megan K. (Dominic III) Cotroneo, Pamela M. (Anthony) Chadwick; great-grandchildren, Elise, Dominic IV, Olivia, Tyler, Ryan, Ella, Henry and Mason; several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and supportive neighbors.
Recently honored by local media and Highland Hospital as the oldest survivor of the Battle of the Bulge in western New York, Bill proudly served the 94th infantry division with Patton's Third Army. Subsequently, he received an honorary Master's of Military Science from Cumberland University for his participation in the development of strategies and tactics employed by General Eisenhower, who credited them with his victory in Europe.
Friends may call at Harloff Funeral Home, 803 S. Washington St., East Rochester, Thursday, November 29, 4-7 PM. Bill's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 30, 11 AM at St. Louis Church, 64 S. Main St., Pittsford. Interment White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations in Bill's name to Music and Memory (musicandmemory.org) comforting patients through personalized playlists of the music of their lives.
