PITTSFORD - Ezio Bonanni died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on July 15, 2023, at the age of 87. Ezio valiantly fought an aggressive form of prostate cancer for 2 years. Ezio was born in the town of Roccagorga, Italy. He moved to the city of Rome with his family at the age of 12. Ezio proudly served in the Italian Carabinieri for 7 years and studied accounting. He came to the U.S. in 1964 with his first wife, Gloria, with whom he had 2 children, Virgil and Ezio, Jr. Ezio was a dedicated employee of both Kodak and B. Forman companies in the City of Rochester. Ezio met his current wife, Lillian, in 1979 at a Fairport dance. They shared European travel, their Italian culture, gardening, and especially their love of family, including many memorable and lively dinners (his favorite being linguine alle vongole).
Ezio embraced life. He will fondly be remembered for his unique ability to wiggle his ears and eyebrows, his dapper hats, and heartily breaking into Italian song at the dinner table. His family thanks U of R/Wilmot cancer treatment providers at Highland, and his Home Hospice team and aides for their care of Ezio and support for the whole family.
