Gary and I were so saddened to hear of Bernie’s passing. We both have the most fond memories of working with Bernie at Excellus. His laugh and smile would light up any room he was in. His kindness was limitless, and he left such an impression on everyone he met. He was so proud of his girls and all of their achievements; it was his favorite thing to talk about. He was endlessly smitten with Tracy too. He had the most love and light for life, and truly made Excellus a better place. Sending prayers and love to all of Bernie’s family and friends.

Very sad to hear of Bernie's passing. He was a staple at ERCN TV-12 for over 20 years doing color commentary for ER Bombers football along with Joe Scalise, Carm Scalise and Mike Sirianno. All his many hours of volunteer time meant a lot to our viewers and the kids participating in the football program. His wonderful sense of humor kept our viewers engaged and entertained throughout each broadcast they produced. It's vary rare to find someone willing to volunteer this long. He did it for the love of the kids and the school he was so proud to be associated with. My sincere appreciation for Bernie and my condolences to his family.

Reading this, I immediately pictured Bernie’s good nature and wit adding joy to everyone in heaven, as well as, the joy he feels in the presence of our Savior. No more pain. He will be deeply missed, yet one day we plan to laugh again with him. You are so loved …Uncle Rich and Aunt Lisa Allen

I worked with Bernie at Excellus. He would often stop by my desk to discuss audits but we would mostly talk about the Yankees since like Bernie I am a devoted fan. I really enjoyed having those conversations and that was one of the things I missed most about the transition to working from home. My condolences to his family. He truly was a wonderful person.

I was so sad to hear this news. My deepest sympathies. Bernie was such a warm, down to earth, funny and positive person. I always felt better after having a chat with him at work, especially when it had to do with baseball and his beloved NY Yankees, not to mention Cooperstown. There's no doubt he touched many lives. Rest in Peace.

My deepest condolences to Bernie’s family. I worked with Bernie at Kodak and we spent a lot of time together at and outside of work. He had a lot of great friends and his personality was one of a kind. I have nothing but good memories of Bernie as he was such a good natured individual and friend. He could beat anyone at trivia and had all the Yankees stats memorized. He will be missed by many but the good memories of him will last forever. God bless.

Bernie and I joined the Air Force together right out of high school. We were both squad leaders in the same squadron in basic training. We had a blast as 2 Rochesterians leading new recruits. He is and was an individual that was very well liked by many.
