East Rochester – passed away peacefully on September 10, 2024 at age 95.  Verna (Hettel) was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Rene, in 2022.  Verna is survived by her children; Larry (Joan), Ron (Laura), Jeanne (Patrick) Farchione, and David (Cindy); three grandchildren; Angela (Justin) DaCosta, Patrick (Emily Lamica) and David (Allie) Farchione, two great-grandchildren; Julianna & Jonah DaCosta; sister, Ellen Parsons, brother, Eugene Hettel; several nieces & nephews.  

No prior calling.  Please join the family on Saturday, September 28th at 9:30AM at St. Jerome’s Church, East Rochester, for the celebration of her Memorial Mass.  Interment White Haven Memorial Park, Pittsford.  

The family would like to thank The Northfield in Fairport for the friendship and support provided to Verna over the last four years.  A special thank you to the staff from UR Medicine Hospice and staff & volunteers at the Advent House for the excellent care & compassion shown to Verna during her final days.
